Do you remember the movie Training Day? If you have not seen this movie yet…you should! I recently saw the movie on television and was reminded of how much I love Denzel Washington! This movie was the first time that he was recognized with his acting brilliance and received an oscar for best male actor.
The movie portrays a young police officer, Jake Hoyt played by Ethan Hawke, hoping to become a narcotics officer and is subject to an intense 24-hour training day provided by the highly decorated LAPD officer Alonzo Harris played by Denzel Washington. This training day will shape and change the lives of both men as they battle deep in the LA drug ring.

Umm… I didn’t know if I should have just fallen asleep and dreamed of something scary or actually stay awake through something soooo gruelingly horrible!!! It’s one of those films where you know what the next scene is going to be about, THIRTY SECONDS into the start of darn thing!!!
This remake of a Japanese movie pretty much brutalized its original version. I mean a handful of people receiving a voice-mail from oneself in the near future could have been quite the thriller. However, the storyline was not the greatest and the acting was just okay… I mean it wasn’t as bad as terrible!!! At least I can give the audio and visual effects a little bit of credit, since it does fit the millennium standards. I just don’t think they were used to their full potential…
… there pretty much was no beginning to the movie and no climax. However, there was an end and trust me was I ever happy it ended… The entire time I thought to myself… “When is the stink bomb gonna end?” I honestly think the best part of the movie was at the end, where I was able to see the credits!!!!
I give this movie 1 popcorn out of a possible 5!

I Am Legend depicted by the brilliant Will Smith is definitely a must buy DVD. Based on the 1954 Fiction novel by Richard Matheson, Smith depicts a doctor who is the last man standing after a man made virus affects the human race.
The movie is set in a deserted New York city, where Smith fights for survival while trying to find a cure for this deadly virus to assure the survival of mankind.
This movie is worth it just to watch Will Smith do bare chested pull-ups alone! The actor seems to be coming into his own and simply gets better and better with every movie he makes. He no longer is the young comedic Fresh Prince of Bel Air, but a seriously talented actor that brings the best of the best to the big screen.
The story line of this movie really makes you wonder…even if it is fiction…if this is what we could be heading for…. :s
