July ‘08′

July’s DVD of the month set to come out on July 15th, 2008 is Step Up 2 ; The Streets. If you loved the first one the second one even better with incredible dance moves. The acting is a little amateurish but it is quite offset by the dancing which is displayed all throughout the movie. The two main characters Andie (Briana Evigan) and Chase (Robert Hoffman) pair up and put together a dance crew made up of the school rejects and prepare to dance up a storm at the Streets competition. Here they will try to prove to everybody that you don’t have to fit a certain mold to be able to dance.
This movie was great considering that I am a very big dance enthusiast, however the acting was not the greatest…it was a little cheezy at times and the actors didn’t seem to be acting naturally rather they looked slightly robotic.

I don’t know about you, but I find that lately the movie industry has been coming out with so many of the so called ’stupid’ comedies lately, examples of this are Superbad, Knocked Up, Superhero Movie, Meet the Spartans, etc.
I miss the classic comedies, with the kind of actors that don’t need to say the ‘F’ word every two seconds and don’t have to talk about sex every second to be funny!
When this movie came out, I was not only impressed with the acting but also relieved to know that the term “Classic Comedy” isn’t biting the dust. This comedy is refreshingly funny and includes a great group of actors who are basically going through their mid-life crisis and opt to take a motorcycle road trip to relax and rejuvenate their souls. What road trip is without trouble though?
Tim Allen plays Doug a dentist who feels that he is losing his youth and is not cool in the eyes of his son, John Travolta plays Woody who is in denial about his wife leaving him and his current financial situation, Martin Lawrence plays Bobby, a husband that is under the control of his wife (whipped), and finally William H. Macey plays Dudley, a very clumsy man that has apparent trouble with the ladies. With a cast like this you can’t go wrong!
I encourage you to rent this movie, you don’t know when the next good ‘Classic Comedy’ is going to come out!
