One Missed Call

Umm… I didn’t know if I should have just fallen asleep and dreamed of something scary or actually stay awake through something soooo gruelingly horrible!!! It’s one of those films where you know what the next scene is going to be about, THIRTY SECONDS into the start of darn thing!!!

This remake of a Japanese movie pretty much brutalized its original version. I mean a handful of people receiving a voice-mail from oneself in the near future could have been quite the thriller. However, the storyline was not the greatest and the acting was just okay… I mean it wasn’t as bad as terrible!!! At least I can give the audio and visual effects a little bit of credit, since it does fit the millennium standards. I just don’t think they were used to their full potential…

… there pretty much was no beginning to the movie and no climax. However, there was an end and trust me was I ever happy it ended… The entire time I thought to myself… “When is the stink bomb gonna end?” I honestly think the best part of the movie was at the end, where I was able to see the credits!!!!

I give this movie 1 popcorn out of a possible 5!

Curse of the Alcatraz

First off I would just like to say WARNING: DO NOT WATCH….PLEASE!!!! Secondly all I can say is…HORRIBLE!!! I really do not think that words can even describe how terrible of a “so called” horror film this is. I mean come on; everything about this movie is ridiculously dreadful. The sound effects were even worse than a 1940s horror film. The visual effects were even worse than amateur, if there even is such a thing. Oh and do not even get me started on the acting. Too late, I just began. It’s like watching a bunch of grade two elementary school students put on a play for mommy and daddy…oops and let’s not forget grandma and grandpa.

In all honesty I think this movie was made in someone’s basement!!!! Well it may as well have been. I mean come on, think of all the money they could have saved on location… I don’t even know if I should even be mad or laugh at how I psyched myself out for no reason?!?!?!?!

This movie is definitely not worth even seeing, never mind renting. I think a bunch of seven-year-olds could have made a better horror film.

Needless to say I really think this movie deserves a BIG FAT 0 out of a possible 5 popcorns!!!

The Mist

The Mist is a movie based on the 1980 novel by Steven King. The name Steven King alone in synonimous with excitement, surprise, and obvious twists and turns in the storyline.

The Mist basically tells the story of a small town that is engulfed in this sort of thick white mist, where you can’t see 2 feet in front of you. The movie is basically set around a group of people trapped in a convenience store trying to figure out what is going on and what is in the mist after a villager comes in screaming “there is something in the mist!”

The movie has great action, suspense, and drama, as well as a crazy old lady that just makes you want to shoot something at the screen (played by the remarkably talented Marcia Gay Harden)! Other actors to watch for are Thomas Jane, Laurie Holden, and Toby Jones.

This makes the movie great entertainment for all you Steven King fans, and for those who don’t know Steven King, this movie is a definite good initiation to him…you’ll see what I’m talking about once you’ve seen the movie.

So get up and go rent this movie today…don’t forget to go to the bathroom before watching the movie and make sure you don’t watch it ALONE….it’s much more fun to watch with agroup of friends!

This movie receives 4 popcorns out of a possible 5!
