Step up 2

July’s DVD of the month set to come out on July 15th, 2008 is Step Up 2 ; The Streets. If you loved the first one the second one even better with incredible dance moves. The acting is a little amateurish but it is quite offset by the dancing which is displayed all throughout the movie. The two main characters Andie (Briana Evigan) and Chase (Robert Hoffman) pair up and put together a dance crew made up of the school rejects and prepare to dance up a storm at the Streets competition. Here they will try to prove to everybody that you don’t have to fit a certain mold to be able to dance.

This movie was great considering that I am a very big dance enthusiast, however the acting was not the greatest…it was a little cheezy at times and the actors didn’t seem to be acting naturally rather they looked slightly robotic.

Vantage Point

Vantage Point comes out on DVD in the week of June 30th and is my pick for the DVD of the month! Now if you haven’t seen it yet…do not get frustrated when the story starts over and over again…it’s just that you see the event that happens in the perspective of the different people who witnessed it. I think that this movie was quite different and whats great about it is that you truly only appreciate the originality at the very end!

The movie is packed with action and suspense as  the lives of different people are intertwined as they witness and are subject to terrorism!

Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox, and Forest Whitaker were excellent in it along with all the other actors that participated.

 How She Move

This movie produced and filmed in Toronto will have you tapping your feet to the beat during the whole movie. The innovative and creative dancing alone makes you want to start taking hip hop, step and break dancing classes!

The movie’s choreographer and lead actress goes through life’s difficulties and tries to surmount the obstacles set before her. She uses her passion for dancing to get her through the trials of her life.

The dancing is AMAZING but unfortunately the acting does not match. The acting was a little reminiscent of the movie You Got Served where you basically watch the movie for the dance routines. In this movie, the story line is excellent, and there are some moments that make you feel like you are in the movie, but there are much more so called “cheesy” moments where the acting seems very fake. Overall the movie was very entertaining for you dance fanatics out there….if you aren’t a fan of dancing, then I don’t suggest you see this movie because there is really nothing more to it.

The DVD is set to come out April 29th, 2008.
