The Love Guru

The Love Guru, Mike Myers, how does he come up with this stuff! The story line isn’t bad, it filled with its twist and turns but nothing comes as a surprise. I did enjoy Justin Timberlake’s impersonation of a French Canadian who is in love with Celine Dion though, that was pure comedy!

There were some very funny moments in the movie, and some slower parts where I asked myself why in the world did I pay to see this movie, but it was overall entertaining. I appreciated it overall.

Let me put it to you this way, The Love Guru is very similar in nature to Austin Powers, he is just another stupid character that comes out with some great jokes but the fact remains that the movie itself is pure stupidity.

Jessica Alba, you are pretty, but comedy is definitely not your thing! Stick to the things you know!

Indiana Jones

Well it is a week after the grand opening of the 4th installment of the Indiana Jones Series and I just want to tell all you critics out there that this movie was awesome! It had all the Indiana Jones Movie elements…comedy, action, and the whip!

What I appreciated most about this movie is that they didn’t try to make Harrison Ford look like he was in his younger years….in fact most of the comedy came on the play that he was old. It really was never ending action as well as great comedy…it was the perfect end to the Indiana Jones played by Harrison Ford….you heard me…played by Harrison Ford….

The end kind off left it open for Shia Lebeouf to step into the Indiana Jones role in the future. One has to wonder if they are trying to pull a James Bond trick where the series goes on for a couple of sequels then changes the main action character.I personally think that Shia Lebeouf can fill the shoes left out for him…he was entertainingly funny in this movie and pulled out all the tricks that a young Indiana Jones in the making could pull off!

I guess we will have to wait and see!

 Wild Hogs

I don’t know about you, but I find that lately the movie industry has been coming out with so many  of the so called ’stupid’ comedies lately, examples of this are Superbad, Knocked Up, Superhero Movie, Meet the Spartans, etc.

I miss the classic comedies, with the kind of actors that don’t need to say the ‘F’ word every two seconds and don’t have to talk about sex every second to be funny!

When this movie came out, I was not only impressed with the acting but also relieved to know that the term “Classic Comedy” isn’t biting the dust. This comedy is refreshingly funny and includes a great group of actors who are basically going through their mid-life crisis and opt to take a motorcycle road trip to relax and rejuvenate their souls. What road trip is without trouble though?

Tim Allen plays Doug a dentist who feels that he is losing his youth and is not cool in the eyes of his son, John Travolta plays Woody who is in denial about his wife leaving him and his current financial situation, Martin Lawrence plays Bobby, a husband that is under the control of his wife (whipped), and finally William H. Macey plays Dudley, a very clumsy man that has apparent trouble with the ladies. With a cast like this you can’t go wrong!

I encourage you to rent this movie, you don’t know when the next good ‘Classic Comedy’ is going to come out!
